This week we are focusing on “short a"! Please have your child bring in something that either starts with the short a sound or has the short a sound in it. Examples: apple, astronaut, cat, hat, bat, pan, etc.
Please note that we are saving “long a" for next week (alien, skate, cake, etc)
Get ready to boogie with Kindergarten celebrity, Jack Hartman, as he helps us with words that start with or have the short a sound. Feel free to stop the video before long a words start or play it but just remind your child that for this week’s Mystery Bag they are only bringing in something that contains the short a sound (ex: cat, bat, astronaut, apple, etc).

For short a, your child may bring any items that either start with OR have the short a sound in them (ex: apple, astronaut, cat, flag, Madeline, etc).
