• Our Letter of the Week: Ii!

  We are learning about the long vowel sound of /i/. This week, please bring a mystery bag with an item that begins with the long /i/ as in ice cream. You can also take on the challenge and bring in an item that has long /i/ in the middle! We are learning to read and spell words the magic “e” at the end that makes the /i/ long (bike, kite, etc.)

  This week we are learning about the short vowel sound Ii. For letter bags, the students can bring in an item that begins with the short sound (i.e. instrument, igloo, inchworm).

  Mystery Bags are back! Please have your child bring in something that either starts with the short /i/ sound or has the sound in the middle. Short I makes the /i/ sound like in igloo, insect, inchworm, pig, sick, pickle, etc.
