Sophia Ortega graduated from CSU Channel Islands with a degree in Business. During her program, she realized teaching young children was her true passion. She attended California Lutheran University, where she completed her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Master's of Education. Shortly after, she began her teaching career at MATES in 4th grade. Mrs. Ortega now teaches 1st grade and loves being a part of the MATES community! In her spare time, Mrs. Ortega loves traveling, spending time relaxing, shopping, and enjoying quality time with her friends and family. She and her husband got married last fall. Mrs. Ortega can’t wait to collaborate, learn, and grow with her students throughout the school year!
