Denise Bain graduated California Lutheran University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies, and she decided to continue on at CLU to receive her multiple subject teaching credential. She previously worked at M.A.T.E.S. as a substitute teacher and as a one-on-one aide. This is Denise’s third year as a fourth grade teacher at M.A.T.E.S., and she is looking forward to working with the wonderful students, parents, and staff that this school is comprised of! In her spare time, Denise enjoys traveling, shopping, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Bain can’t wait to collaborate, learn, and grow with her students throughout the school year.
What is your goal for the students?
My main goals are that my students feel comfortable at school, enjoy learning, and achieve all of their hopes and dreams.
What is your favorite color and flower? Well, if you have been in my classroom, you know that my favorite color is teal. But I also love the color purple. As for flowers, I love orchids and gerber daisies.
What do you most value in your friends? Loyalty and understanding. I have some friends that I have been friends with since I was in elementary school, and I think that these are two characteristics that have allowed us to stay friends this long.
What would you credit for getting you where you are today?
My parents for sure. They have given me the opportunity to be where I am at today. I think that my 4th grade teacher is also one of my heroes. She is the one who ignited my passion for teaching and learning.
What is your favorite hobby? Shopping. Yikes!
Where is your dream travel destination? Anywhere tropical.
What's your favorite candy? Anything gummy! I also like chocolate. So, I guess just candy in general. :)
What is your motto? Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.
What talent would you most like to possess? I would love to be able to sing well. I just don't have that ability!
How do you define success? Loving what you do each and every day. I feel pretty successful because I enjoy coming to work and seeing 33 bright, smiling faces each day.
