What is the PTA?

The Parent Teacher Association is a nonprofit, nonpartisan volunteer organization which is open to anyone interested in the welfare of children – not just parents but grandparents, aunts and uncles, neighbors, community businesses, students, staff, etc. Every person who joins a local PTA automatically becomes a member of both state and national PTAs. A portion of the membership dues goes to the Conejo Council PTA, the 12th District PTA, California State PTA and National PTA. Each of these levels of PTA provides training materials, workshops, support, newsletters, community programs, legislative representation and advocacy; thus including the local PTA as part of the national network of PTAs.
